"...it's just a little thunder..."

Yep, that was us under the arrow.
....okay, maybe it was a little bit more than a 'little thunder', but when your terrified 11 year old + her equally terrified BFF are huddled together on the couch at 12:30 a.m. and you are trying to divert their attention away from the howling wind/booming thunder/hail stones bouncing off the windows and lake waves that look like an episode of 'Whale Wars', you'll say anything.  And the National Weather Service warnings every 10 minutes about "...winds in excess of 80 mph....GET TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST LEVEL OF YOUR SHELTER - NOW..."  interrupting the episode of 'Ace of Cakes' we were trying to watch didn't help matters at all.

But despite having slept in 3 different locations last night - and ending up sleeping HERE for many reasons (one of which may or may not have been that it was the only open bed in the cabin with no one snoring &/or talking in their sleep...)
And I only scraped my head on the ceiling twice. Plus, I had those cute One Direction boys guarding me.
...we all survived.

I guess the heat index will be like 110 today.  I will be doing a lot of this -

Gotta love summertime in Minnesota.

Days that look like this....

And evenings that look like this...

Often give way to middle-of-the-nights that look like this...

Like the natives here always say, "Don't like the weather? Stick around for a few minutes."

Tonight I'm gonna be ready, though.
I'm bringing my pillow, blanket, book and faithful cat downstairs and setting up camp.
There may be a bottle of Chardonnay involved, but I can't be certain.

bahahahahahahahahahahaha....

I love your comments. They let me know I'm talking to someone besides my cats during the day. Check back ~ I'll reply if I'm not too busy napping.
