It's The Most Juanderful Time Of The Year...

...or at least that's what ABC is doing its damnedest to make us believe.

Oh, alright, fine. And people like me. And you, too,  if you're reading this.

Last night ABC aired the juan hour special, "Countdown to Juan Pablo," which introduced us to the Venezuelan heartthrob, his family, and many of the girls fighting for his heart (*cough* among other things).

I'll admit it.
He's hot.
Caliente, if you will.
And I'm a little surprised at myself.  I mean, I'm not usually a fan of blonds.
Exhibit A (and B...and C...)

Sigh. Sigh. And sigh.
Wait. Hold on. Now that I'm thinking about it, there's also...

Oh, and Husband.
Duh.

With Juan Pablo, it's not the hair, though. It's totally the accent.
"I am Whan Pahlo."
Gets me every time (and yes, obviously I'm making Husband work on perfecting it).
Apparently he's working on his English and last night we were treated to his attempts to draw out his nouns and speak more slowly. Adorable...although I hope he doesn't get the hang of it. I like his bumbling and not being able to understand everything he's saying. I mean, conversation is overrated. Especially when you look like Whan Pahlo.

We learned he's a loving father. A devoted and playful dad. A dad whose kinda-but-not-really concerned when his daughter tells him she "behaved badly" at school that day. A dad WHO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO BUCKLE HIS PRECIOUS DAUGHTER IN A CAR SEAT.

A guy with a big, funny, boisterous and caring family. A guy with an uncle who apparently doesn't know who he is.

We saw a parade of some of the women who'll be vying for his Venezuelan heart (*cough* among other things). We saw their Gong Show talents and heard their squeals of delight when they discovered who our fair Bachelor would be. Looks like a typical Bachelor bunch. Lots of bikinis with big necklaces, loose curls in their extensions, tears (so, so many tears), jealousy and cat fights. And lots — and I mean LOTS — of new places to pin on my "Places I Want To Go Because Of The Bachelor" Pinterest board.

I can't wait.

The Spanish wine is chilling, you guys.
Despite the fact that I've been getting nightly migraines for the past five nights and may have to watch it wine-less (SAY IT ISN'T SO), the Spanish wine is chilling.
It's on.

But I've gotta go. Now that I've made that collage up there, I've gotta go print it out and get it framed and hung over the bed before Husband gets home.

Make sure to check back tomorrow (around noon) for the first recap!
(And if you're feeling nostalgic and want to recap any of the old recaps from Des's season (where we first met Whan Pahlo), you can find them all >> RIGHT HERE <<)

  1. Don't cry when I tell you this, but I am not watching this season. GASP. I KNOW. But, I can't. I am officially protesting. They did not pick Arie. Despite the fact that we campaigned hard for him. So, I can't. But I am totally watching Sean and Catherine's wedding. Oh yes I am.-Ashley
