Friday Faves ~ hostages and pregnancies and one hot newscaster

It's Friday, kids!
Time to get your dance on!

As you observant readers may have noticed the past couple of Fridays, I've recently discovered the gif file - what one is and how to attach one.
Whatever, I'm old.
But I've decided that every Friday Favorite post from here on out will start with one. Because they are awesome and my favorite.
I'm working on learning how to actually make one, so yeah, you've got that to look forward to.
And Husband thinks I don't do anything all day. HA.

Are you ready? Let's do this.

1.  Argo-

The past few years (or more) I've been sorely disappointed in pretty much all of the movies I've paid big bucks to see.
Seriously, we only go every couple of months because we are craving movie popcorn.
But last weekend we went to see Argo.
Go. See. This. Movie.
I honestly do not know how I didn't have a heart attack during the last half hour of that movie; my heart was pounding so hard and my hands were literally shaking and sweating. I was a nervous wreck.
And if a movie can make me feel like I'm gonna flatline? Winner.
Plus, Ben Affleck takes his shirt off.

2.  Guess who's pregnant? -
Only the cutest couple in Hollywood.

You may recall that they would be the only couple at my celebrity dinner party because I adore both of them.  And if the way she feels about sloths is any indication of how she's gonna react to seeing her baby for the first time, all I can say is I hope Dax has the camera rolling.

Enjoy. Again.

3.  Megyn Kelly - FOX News -

So election night Husband and I were watching the news for about 3 hours and may or may not have had all our televisions tuned in to FOX News and the adorable and very 'newscastery' Megyn Kelly (but in hindsight I'm pretty disappointed we missed drunk Diane Sawyer). After about an hour I say to Husband, who is this awesome woman? She's fantastic! and Husband wastes no time agreeing with me (jumped on that before I'd even gotten 4 of those 7 words out) and takes it as an invitation to do a guilt free google image search.  And comes up with this (pretty damn quickly I'm now realizing. It's almost as if he'd done this exact search before....)

Oh, she's fantastic alright he says. Chuckle chuckle chuckle.
I hit him in the face with his iPad and switched the channel.

But despite her questionable photo shoot she still gets a spot on my favorites list for the way she handled Karl Rove's meltdown and gave us an impromptu tour of the FOX Newsroom when her earpiece shut down.
And I'm not the only one who thinks so (besides Husband) -

"But the true star of the night was anchor Megyn Kelly, who, upon being presented with Rove’s fanciful doubts about ballot-counting, marched down to the bowels of Fox Election Night HQ for a full, on-air accounting of their methodology."

Gotta love a girl who can put Rove in his place.

4.  Ben and Kate (FOX Tuesday nights) -

You might remember from this post that I had more than a few new shows I was excited about watching this fall.
Yeah, well, I think this is the only one that's made the cut.  It's adorably quirky and spontaneous and fresh, and makes us laugh out loud at least twice every week (which is saying a lot).
And this girl steals every episode -

Trust me, it's the funniest show you're not watching.

That'll do it this week, kids.
Enjoy your weekend! I'll be putting up Christmas lights before the snow flies.  It's how we roll in Minnesota.

  1. I'm guessing if Megyn Kelly word that sexier dress Fox would've had more viewers. But what's with the weird spelling of Megyn? I don't get it. It's supposed to be pronounced "Mey-gan" right? Not "Me-gine" like my gynocologist.

    Good thing she's smokyng hot.

And we put up our lights, too. The neighbors were making fun of us for doing it so early, but JOKES on them....yesterday was 70 degrees and today it's barley 30. HAHA

  6. I am shocked by that Megyn Kelly pic! She always seems so profession and classy on the news! I also watched her on election night, and props to her for the way she handled old Karl's meltdown!
